Saturday in Parksville, BC the Timbermen took Coquitlam to overtime but lost 8-5 to the Adanacs. Corey Shires had three assists, Brett Hawrys had a goal and an assist and Mitch Parker had two goals in the game. The loss snapped a five game unbeaten streak for Nanaimo.
Then on Sunday the Timbermen got off to a disastrous start trailing Langley 7-1 after the first period. They battled back to down 12-8 after two, but fell 14-12 to the Thunder. Dane Sorenson led the way with three goals and two assists, Cole Kryworuchka had three goals and an assist, Brett Hawrys added two goals and two assists and Mitch Parker had one goal and three helpers.
The Timbermen visit Victoria on Tuesday at 7:30PM at the Q Centre.
