Timbermen Partner with Doumont Restoration Project

The Nanaimo Timbermen are excited to announce their new partnership with the Doumont Restoration Project, Cadillac Flats Clean-Up #2 which will take place on Saturday, May 23rd from 10:00AM till 4:00PM.

We invite the community to join the players as they clean make our City a cleaner and safer place to live.

Few Notes:

Directions for people coming from the south (Victoria):
From the Inland Island Highway, take a left turn on Jingle Pot Road. Please note that there are two Jingle Pot Rd turnoffs. The second left turn, that is located beside Mostar Road, is the correct exit. After making this left off of the highway, immediately make a right turn onto Biggs Road. Follow Biggs Road, and you will eventually make it to Weigles Road. Follow Weigles Road up the hill until the road transitions from pavement to dirt. 

Direction for people coming from the north (Comox Valley):
From the Inland Island Highway, take a right on Jingle Pot Road. Please note that there are two Jingle Pot Road exits. You will need to take the first Jingle Pot Road right-turn exit that has an exit for Mostar Road on the left. After making this right off of the highway, immediately make a right turn onto Biggs Road. Follow Biggs Road, and you will eventually make it to Weigles Road. Follow Weigles Road up the hill until the road transitions from pavement to dirt. 

As there hazardous materials on site, such as broken glass and nails, we would request that participants please try to find alternate care for children and pets on the day of the event. 

What to Wear/bring:

• Hat, sunscreen and plenty of water
• Closed-toe durable footwear
• Work gloves or heavy-duty rubber gloves
• Bag lunch
• Long pants and long sleeves

Please bring any equipment or tools you feel would be useful, such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and garbage tongs. Please be sure that your belongings are well labeled with your name, in case the tools get mixed up with similar equipment.

Garbage bags will be provided, and the collection of the bags will be taken care of by the Regional District of Nanaimo. A first aid kit will be available on-site to provide care for minor injuries.
