The Nanaimo Timbermen lost 11-9 to the Victoria Shamrocks on Wednesday night. Victoria came out firing and built up a 5-1 lead but the Tmen closed the first period on a four goal run to make it 5-5. The teams traded second period goals and the Tmen took an 8-7 lead into the intermission. But the Shamrocks out scored Nanaimo 4-1 in the third to take the win, and to win the season series 2-1. Nanaimo had big performances from Travis Mickelson with three goals and three assists, Mitch Parker had a goal and five assists, and Cody Short had three goals and two assists in the loss.
Next for the Timbermen, a date with the Adanacs in Coquitlam on Sunday.
