The Nanaimo Timbermen won their first game of the season in convincing fashion 17-3 against Port Coquitlam SaintsĀ on Saturday.
Corey Shires led the way with five goals and two assists, Nick Sanderson had a goal and four assists and Brett Hawrys scored four goals. Pete Dubenski stopped 20 of 23 shots in a game where the Tmen outshot the opposition 71-23.
This weekend Nanaimo visit Burnaby on Sunday.
Saturday was the first game for Dane Sorenson, Del Donnelly and Scottie Reynolds as Nanaimo's full roster is now coming together.
The next regular season home game is Wednesday May 21st against Victoria.
