League honours for Thunder trio
Three members of the Langley Junior A Thunder were recognized among the top players for the BC Junior A Lacrosse League for the 2025 season.
Cody Malawsky capped off his junior career by winning the John Urban Award as the league's top graduating player, as well as earning a First Team All-Star award. Malawsky’s leadership, skill, and dedication made him a cornerstone of the Thunder program and a standout across the league.
Malawsky piled up 78 goals and 171 points in 46 regular season games, plus another 62 goals and 144 points in 38 playoff contests over five seasons with Langley and Coquitlam.
In goal, Caleb Khan earned a place on the Second Team All-Stars following a breakout season where he posted a goals against average of 9.37 and an .819 save percentage. With three years of junior eligibility still ahead of him, Khan has established himself as one of the league’s brightest young goaltenders and a key piece of the Thunder’s future.
Rounding out the honours, Koji Okuyama (defence/transition) was named to the All-Rookie Team after an impressive debut campaign which saw him score nine goals and 13 points in 15 games, further underscoring the depth of emerging talent within the Thunder organization.
“We’re extremely proud of Cody, Caleb, and Koji for the recognition they’ve earned,” the team said in a statement. “Cody has set the standard for what it means to be a Thunder player, while Caleb and Koji represent an exciting future for our program.”
The Thunder congratulate all three players on their well-deserved honours and look forward to building on this success in the seasons to come.
