Thunder Shoot for Second Straight Win, Host Saints

Township of Langley, BC (Thursday, June 18, 2015) – The Langley Junior Thunder (4-9-2) go for their second straight win as they host the Port Coquitlam Junior ‘A’ Saints  (4-10-1) tonight at 8:00PM at the Langley Events Centre.

Last weekend, James Rahe put the team on his back to score six goals as the Thunder defeated the Burnaby Junior ‘A’ Lakers 13-12 on Sunday. Jesse Worley and Thomas Moffat contributed with four points each as Zach Wickett stopped 45 shots to pick up his first win of the season.

In two games, Langley has yet to lose to the Saints, defeating them in the season opener and playing to a 7-7 tie last month at the LEC.

Rahe continues to put up impressive numbers, leading the team in points (50) and goals (26). Moffat is having a career year in the BCJALL as the forward has 44 points including a team leading 26 assists in 14 games.

The Saints are coming off a big 10-8 victory over the second place Delta Islanders last Friday. Gordie Phillops led the team with five points, including the game-winner as Port Coquitlam is also fighting to make a playoff push late in the season.

Langley currently sits six points back of the final playoff spot with six games remaining on their schedule while the Saints are seven back with six games left.
