It was a game that was over early.

The Coquitlam Adanacs dominated in the first period – there five goals nearly matching the six shots on goal registered by the Langley Thunder – in a lopsided 18-7 victory in BC Junior A Lacrosse League action.

The game was played Friday night at the Coquitlam Sports Centre with the Adanacs improving to 2-1 while the Thunder fell to 1-3.

Langley did show more pushback in the middle stanza as they managed to score six times, but that was not enough to keep pace with the Adanacs, who popped in another 10 goals for an insurmountable 15-6 lead. The third period was relatively low scoring with Coquitlam scoring three of the final four goals.

Bailey Vanichuk (1+3) and Jonathan Grywacheski (1+2) led the way for the Thunder offence while Jack Margetson (1+1), Ben Gagnon (1+1), Connyr Welch, Temeke7 Gottfriedsen and Kai Maenpaa had the other goals.

Brayden Wandler (32 saves on 45 shots) and Deklan Morrison (16 saves on 21 shots) both saw action in the Langley net as the Thunder were outshot by a 2-to-1 margin, 66-33. Thomas Ungaro made 26 saves for Coquitlam while David Charney (3+4), Marcello Mannarino (3+3), Jordan Reed (3+1) each had a hat trick.

The Thunder are back in action on May 18 as they host the New Westminster Salmonbellies at Langley Events Centre. Game time is set for 7:00pm. For tickets, click here.
