Township of Langley, BC (April 4, 2017)  The Langley Thunder of the British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League (BCJALL) announced today that Bob Bell has been appointed Assistant Coach for the 2017 season. Bell most recently was the Head Coach of the Port Coquitlam Saints, where the team went 11-10 under his watch in the 2016 season. In 2014, he coached the Port Coquitlam Saints Intermediate team to a Provincial championship.

“Being able to add a coach like Bob to our staff is huge for us,” said Head Coach Shaun Springett. “He is a great coach, an excellent motivator and most of all a wonderful teacher of the game.”

Bell played his junior career with the Burnaby Lakers and capped his resume with a Mann Cup championship in 1992 with the New Westminster Salmonbellies and finished his career with the Coquitlam Adanacs.

“I am very excited to be a part of the Langley Thunder Junior A program and I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with such talented players,” said Bob Bell. “I feel that Shaun Springett and I will work very well together and are very much aligned with our coaching philosophies.”

The Junior Thunder open their 2017 season with an exhibition game against the New Westminster Salmonbellies on Sunday, April 23, 2017 inside the Langley Events Centre’s Field House at 5:00pm. Their first regular season game will take place on Monday, May 1, 2017 when they visit the Burnaby Lakers at 8:00pm.
