Shamrocks score 11-7 win over Thunder

After battling back to tie the score at five midway through the contest, the Langley Junior A Thunder were outscored 6-2 the rest of the way, falling 11-7 to the host Victoria Shamrocks.

The teams were playing on Saturday afternoon at Victoria’s Q Centre in BC Junior A Lacrosse League action with the loss dropping the Thunder to 0-2 while the Shamrocks improved to 3-0.

It was a 1-1 game after a period with Victoria taking control thanks to a 7-4 middle stanza. Jacob Glass led the Langley attack with a pair of goals and two helpers with Austin Vanichuk (2-1), Nathaniel Leroux (1-2) and Mac Timms (1-2) adding three-point efforts. Cody Todd rounded out the scoring with a goal and an assist.

Caleb Khan made 29 saves in the Thunder goal as his team was outshot 40-29.

Jett Klassen led the Shamrocks with four goals and seven points while Dylan Anderson added a hat trick and one assist.

The Thunder now prepare for their home opener on May 29 when the face the Burnaby Lakers at Langley Events Centre. Game time is set for 7:00pm
