Shamrocks get Lucky against Thunder
Township of Langley, BC (Sunday, May 17, 2015) – Luck was not on their side as the Langley Thunder lost a tough battle against the Victoria Shamrocks 8-4 on Sunday night at the Langley Events Centre.
Although Victoria pulled away with an early lead, Langley’s defense and goaltending was able to keep the teams evenly matched. Victoria outshot Langley 46-42. The loss puts the Thunder to 2-4-1 in this young season and back into fifth in the BCJALL standings.
After being held scoreless in the first period, Bryce Brochu was able to give the home team some momentum by scoring Langley’s first two goals with 4:36 and 3:13 left in the second period. Christian Bosa was able to put one away shortly after to make it 6-3 for the Shamrocks. In a last ditch effort Thomas Moffat snagged Langley’s fourth goal with 3:58 left in the third.
