Pauwels & Latin Commit to Timbermen
Kyle Pauwels and Jake Latin will be moving to the Hub City to play for the Nanaimo Jr. "A" Timbermen for 2016.
Pauwels is currently attending Pfeiffer University which is a private university in the village of Misenheimer near Richfield, North Carolina. This season Kyle has amassed 40 goals, 15 assists for 55 points in 15 games for the Pfeiffer Falcons.
In 2015, Pauwels scored 28 goals and 9 assists for 37 points in 6 games with the Kamloops Venom in the TOJLL last year. Before being waved by the New Westminster Salmonbellies and being claimed by the Timbermen, Kyle had 5 assists in 3 games with New Westminster Jr. "A's". He is a good right handed finisher with good lacrosse sense who will be added to the right hand side which boosts Alec Molander, Cody Clark and McLean Chicquen who was obtained in a trade with the Shamrocks at the end of the 2015 season. The addition of Pauwels will help fill the scoring void on the righthand side with the loss of graduate Dane Sorensen.
Latin did not play in the 2015 season; Jake made a life choice to work and travel for a year before taking on a career move. In 2014, Jake accumulated 1 goal and 3 assists for 4 points in 9 games with the New Westminster Salmonbellies and as an affiliated player with the Senior 'Bellies obtaining 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points in 5 games.
Jake is an "energetic" player. You can expect to see him played in many different positions and situations this season. He'll be a key lefthanded addition to our 2016 team.
Welcome to both Kyle and Jake!
