A consistent Nanaimo Timbermen attack was too much for the Langley Thunder on Sunday afternoon at Langley Events Centre.

The Nanaimo visitors scored five goals in the first period, four in the second and then another five-spot in the third on their way to 14-6 victory. Langley's offence was silent in the opening 20 minutes before scoring three goals apiece in the second and third periods.

The Timbermen finished tied atop the BC Junior A Lacrosse League standings with a record of 6-2 while Langley was 1-8.

Kyle Brunsch led the Langley offence with two goals and one assist while Trevayne Hunter, Cooper Gettel, Ryan Jensen and Kaden Doughty had a goal apiece.

Nanaimo was led by three goals apiece from Andrew Bowman and Ryan Sheridan while Skyler Wilson potted a pair.

The Thunder now face the Port Coquitlam Saints on Tuesday (August 3) in Port Coquitlam in game one of the best-of-three series. The teams will return to Langley Events Centre on August 5 for game two with a 7:30 p.m. start, which will be available to stream for free at www.tfsetv.ca.

If necessary, game three would back in Port Coquitlam on August 6.
