Tied at three midway through the contest, the Langley Thunder offence was held off the scoresheet the rest of the game as they fell 9-3 to the Port Coquitlam Saints.
The Thunder were playing their final game of the BC Junior A Lacrosse League season on Thursday night at Langley Events Centre.
The Saints – who are in a fight to secure second place and home-floor advantage for the first round of the playoffs – outshot Langley 73-34 with goaltender Caleb Khan finishing with 64 saves for an impressive .877 save percentage.
But after scoring the first two goals of the game, the Thunder could not capitalize on their lead as the young and rebuilding squad wrapped up their season with an 0-18 record.
Brayden Bushnoe scored twice with Austin Vanichuk adding a goal and an assist for the Thunder. Mac Timms and Bailey Vanichuk both finished with a pair of assists.
Anahalihs Doxtator led the Saints with two goals and two assists while goaltender Imani Mittens stopped 31 of 34 shots.
