High five: Brunsch leads offence as Thunder win again

With Kyle Brunsch serving as the trigger man and Kaden Doughty directing the offensive attack, the Langley Thunder improved to 3-0 thanks to a 14-5 victory.
The Thunder were in Port Coquitlam to face the Saints on Friday night in BC Junior A Lacrosse League action with Brunsch notching five goals and six points and Doughty delivering a goal to go along with seven helpers for the road team.
Seven different Langley players had at least one goal and a dozen players were credited with one point or more while goaltender Brayden Wandler stopped 32 of 37 Port Coquitlam shots.
Langley built a multi-goal lead as they struck for three goals in a span of 2:13 less than six minutes into the game and then extended their advantage to 5-1 after 20 minutes. The Thunder stretched the lead to six by second intermission, going ahead 9-3.
Cody Malawsky finished with a pair of goals and four points while Erik Forsselius and Tristan Kirkham each set up four goals as all four players had four-point games.
Langley also received two-goal, three-point performances from Drew Kask and Declan Fitzpatrick while Stuart Phillips and Matthew Abbott had a goal apiece.
The Thunder are back in action on May 26 (7:30pm) as they host the New Westminster Salmonbellies.
