Futures announced
Trade deadline futures between the Victoria Jr Shamrocks and the Jr Timbermen have been officially announced.
Nanaimo receives the playing rights to 20 year old right handed sniper McLean Chicquen and return the rights of 20 year old local goaltender Matt Zeller.
The right handed Chicquen who hails from Shawnigan Lake, is currently playing Division 1 lacrosse in Long Island New York with the Stoney Brook Seawolves. Chicquen is teammates with currently Senior 'A' Timbermen Brody Eastwood at Stoney Brook. Chicquen will be a welcomed addition to an already potent right side to go along with Alec Molander, and Cody Clark. McLean will be entering his final season of Jr eligibility in the 2016 season and will be looking to improve on his overall point totals which currently stand at 51 goals, 72 assists for 123 points to go along with 20 PIMS in 35 games played.
Zeller the Campbell River native, and Vancouver Island University student returns to the Timbermen after going over to the Shamrocks for their 2015 playoff run to help strengthen their goaltending. Zeller will be entering his final Jr season of eligibility as well, and forms one of the best goaltending tandems in Jr lacrosse with returner Jerryd Jensen. Zeller will look to improve his career stats in the 2016 season which currently stand at 23 games played, with 5 wins, 7 losses, a career GAA of 7.52 to go along with a save % of .768 split between the Jr Timbermen and the Jr Shamrocks.
Welcome to #TimberNation McLean and welcome back home Matt!
