Balanced attack leads to third-straight victory

Four player scored two goals apiece and Caleb Khan made 41 saves as the Langley Junior A Thunder continued their hot start to the season, defeating the Nanaimo Timbermen 9-5.
The Thunder travelled to Nanaimo's Frank Crane Arena on Saturday (May 23) afternoon, improving to 3-0 in BC Junior A Lacrosse League action. The Timbermen fell to 0-3.
The teams traded goals in the opening period, each scoring twice, before Josiah Allen gave the Thunder the lead for good just ahead of the first intermission. Langley then opened the middle frame with a 4-0 run.
Allen led the way with a goal and four assists while Austin Vanichuk (2-1), Brayden Longacre (2-1), Kade Hoogstraten and Koji Okuyama potting a pair apiece. Zekie Terry and Jacob Glass each set up two goals.
Nanaimo outshot Langley 46-37 but Khan was up to the task, turning aside 41 shots.
The Thunder are on the road once again, travelling to New Westminster's Queen's Park Arena on Tuesday (May 26) to face the Salmonbellies before playing their home opener at Langley Events Centre on Thursday (May 28) against the Coquitlam Adanacs. Game time is 7:30pm.
